Making a Grand Entrance
Centering around a domed ceiling, the entrance and lobby serve as the main arrival point for visitors. The design objective here was to create an impressive and seamless entry experience. A rich amber color palette and polished reflective materials, such as marble, gold leaf, crystal and Murano glass complement the grandeur and volume of the space. Â The Murano glass artwork, crystal chandelier and bouquet-shaped wall lights introduce floral and garden motifs that continue throughout the home.
A Contemporary Take on Arabesque Artistry
Interpreting the client’s Moroccan theme, Yasmin Alsdais Interiors sought to imbue their design with elegant details that were both contemporary and culturally rich. In the men’s majlis, a stately atmosphere is achieved using bold materials and large-scale furniture. A rich color palette incorporating creams, browns, blacks, and brass gives the room a majestic character.  Subtle references to the Moroccan tradition are introduced in the form of lantern-shaped chandeliers, calligraphic abstract artwork and sculptural hanging beads. The majlis is a treasure trove of detail, from furniture inlaid with arabesque patterns to alcoves that echo Islamic architecture.
In the women’s majlis, jewel-like hues such as pink and turquoise enliven and reimagine conventional Moroccan themes. The space is a masterclass in combining tradition with modernity. An exclusive wall covering embedded with pearls provides a rich, three-dimensional texture that is both contemporary and elegant. Each pearl was carefully placed by hand. Cushions sourced directly from Morocco are decorated with traditional interlacing geometric and floral patterns. Crystal ornaments and mother-of-pearl accents give the space a precious quality.
Welcoming the Outside In
The sunroom was initially an outdoor space, positioned between the garden and the house, with an empty layout. In this new design configuration, the skylight becomes the room’s focal point, flooding the space with natural light. A large custom-made wallcovering depicts the lush green foliage of a tree-filled garden. Inspired by the outdoors, the color scheme integrates the blue of the sky and the greenery of a landscape. Delicate gold floral chandeliers and sculptures accent the space. Materials have been selected for the way in which they blend indoor design with the ambience of the outdoors. This fresh airy light-filled room feels like stepping into an indoor garden.
